No typical sand or slides at this playground! CAW's playground has colored sand, wood, clay, tempera and watercolor paints, markers, tissue paper and more items than we have space to list here. Students will use all these supplies to create projects including masks, paper dolls, animals, birds, insects, portraits, and imaginary creatures. How will they do all this? By cutting, folding, stomping, splashing, blending, texturing, painting, and coloring (after they mix their own unique colors). Bet you wish you could stay too! Tuition for this class includes a fee of $20 for materials provided by CAW. Experimental Printmaking

Explore and develop designs intaglio and monotype printmaking in this hands-on course. Class time will focus on creating original designs and concepts as students experiment with print plate substrates, including Corian®, Tetra-Pak®, vinyl records, and various recycled and found materials. Examples of different print styles will be shared to illustrate these techniques. This course is suitable for beginners and advanced students alike. Print Day in May 2026

Print Day in May is an annual international celebration of printmaking taking place on the first Saturday in May. Join us in the print studio at Creative Arts Workshop as we gather with thousands of participants around the globe to recognize this special art community. Enter to win a free printmaking class or workshop at CAW! (Details to follow) Printmakers: CAW's studio is equipped for relief, intaglio, screen print, and monotype processes, and offers four printmaking presses: a 25” x 48” Takach, a 42" x 26" Takach, a 30” x 48” Charles Brand etching press, a 36” x 60” Charles Brand etching press, and a 28” x 50” motorized Charles Brand press. Participants must have printmaking experience, be familiar with working in a community studio, and may spend the time on independent projects. There is no instruction. CAW will provide a limited assortment of oil based etching inks and Akua soy-based inks, as well as acids, tools, and clean-up supplies. Attendees should provide their own

Curious about welding or ready to take your skills further? This Saturday class welcomes all levels—from complete beginners to experienced Oxy-Acetylene and MIG welders. Learn the basics of welding or as an intermediate or advanced student, jump right into your own ideas as you explore the possibilities of metal sculpture. The studio will be an energetic, creative space where experimentation is encouraged and support is always close by. With individualized guidance, students will build skills, gain confidence with welding tools and equipment, and bring your concept to life in metal. Intermediate Watercolor 201

Continue developing your skills in this beautiful art form as to achieve the ethereal qualities of watercolor painting. Students will focus on working primarily with wet-on-wet techniques through landscapes. There will be instructor demonstrations at each class. Everyone is encouraged to develop their own artistic style while getting accustomed to the techniques of the medium. Note: This intermediate-level class requires prior watercolor experience.
