Glaze + Reduction = Amazing Results!
Students will bring in bisque stoneware or porcelain pots (Cone 10 only), preferably small cups, vases, or bowls (no plates please). We will glaze the pots, load them, and fire an updraft kiln in the reduction firing process between 2,350°-70° Fahrenheit. Reduction firing is when oxygen is prevented from interacting with the glazes during glaze maturation. On the final day, students and instructor will unload the kiln and together discuss the results. There will be a short lecture with slides and a discussion on glazes and their formulas.
There will be a firing fee of $3.50/pound per pound.
