Summer Arts Adventures: Junior Teaching Assistants
Creative Arts Workshop is seeking enthusiastic young people to serve as Junior Teaching Assistants during our Summer Arts Adventures program.
Junior Teaching Assistants work alongside teaching artists and staff to help create a positive, engaging, and supportive environment for campers. Responsibilities may include assisting with art activities, helping prepare materials, supporting classroom management, and serving as positive role models for younger students.
This is an unpaid volunteer position that provides valuable experience for students interested in art education, youth development, and community service.

Current Opportunities
Visitor Services Assistant (Part-Time)
Creative Arts Workshop is seeking dependable, friendly, and service-oriented individuals to join our Visitor Services team.
As a Visitor Services Assistant, you will often be the first person students, visitors, donors, artists, and community members encounter when they visit CAW. This role plays an essential part in creating a welcoming and positive experience for everyone who enters our building.
This is a part-time, onsite position with daytime, evening, and weekend shifts available.
Responsibilities
- Welcome visitors and assist with inquiries
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Support student registration and administrative functions
- Answer phones and respond to emails
- Assist with special projects and organizational needs
- Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador for CAW’s programs and mission
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who:
- Enjoy working with people and providing excellent customer service
- Demonstrate patience, professionalism, and strong problem-solving skills
- Are highly organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities
- Work well independently and as part of a team
- Possess strong communication skills
Candidates should have experience with common office software, including:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Google Workspace
- Zoom
- Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva (preferred)
Experience with registration, CRM, or donor management systems is helpful but not required; training will be provided.
Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply.

Teaching Artists
Creative Arts Workshop is continually seeking talented artists and educators to expand our roster of teaching artists for both onsite and online classes and workshops.

Figure Models
Creative Arts Workshop is accepting applications for figure models in our Drawing + Painting Department.
Both clothed and nude modeling opportunities are available. Previous experience is welcome but not always required.
Figure models play a vital role in supporting artists and students as they develop observational drawing and painting skills.

Internships
Creative Arts Workshop periodically offers internship opportunities for students and emerging professionals interested in arts administration, marketing, gallery operations, nonprofit management, community engagement, and arts education.
Internships provide hands-on experience while supporting the mission of one of Connecticut’s oldest community art schools.
