Explore, learn, and practice drawing exercises and techniques in a supportive environment. Increase visual perception, skills and confidence, and develop your unique style. Work with drawing pencils, charcoal, pastels, watercolor and ink/pens. Weekly demos and exercises include mark-making, line, value, form, texture and shading. Subjects include animals, everyday objects, portraits, nature, as well as students’ interests. We draw from observation, references and imagination. All materials provided. Join us! Wearable Art: From Concept to Creation

Clothing can be more than something we wear—it can tell a story, express an idea or one's personal mythology, or become a work of art. Moving beyond traditional fashion design, students will treat the body as a canvas and clothing as a form of communication. Whether inspired by fashion, costume, fiber arts, sustainable design, or storytelling, students will complete an original wearable art piece—or a small capsule look—that reflects their unique artistic vision. Practical skills such as measuring, cutting, draping, sewing, problem-solving, and finishing will be taught, while also exploring how garments can express memory, emotion, movement, protection, culture, and transformation. Through weekly meetings, students will be exposed to: How to develop a concept for a wearable piece How to gather visual and material inspiration Basic measuring and fitting awareness Fabric manipulation and surface design Simple garment construction or garment transformation

Paint Your First Oil Painting

Have you always wanted to try oil painting but felt intimidated or weren't sure where to start? This beginner workshop introduces the fundamentals of oil painting, including composition, mixing colors, value, brush handling and layering techniques. Make a Ceramic Charcuterie Board or a Seder Plate

Learn the fundamentals of hand building while designing and making a unique and beautiful charcuterie board or Seder plate using slab and coil techniques. A small coil-built bowl for dips or condiments will also be created to complement the finished platter. The first workshop session focuses on working with clay—using the slab roller, creating coils, planning a personalized design, and constructing the platter. After the work has dried and been bisque fired, students will return for a second session to glaze and decorate their pieces. Finished work will be glaze fired and ready for pickup after firing. Students are welcome to return during an open pottery session between workshop dates to refine or add details to their projects if desired. Please note this workshop runs over two days as follows: Sunday, 10/11/26 from 10am-3pm Sunday, 11/8/26 from 1-3pm Clay firing fees are $3.50 per pound. No experience necessary, all levels welcome. Inspired by the autumnal colors, learn to mix colors and then paint beautiful scenes with them. Celebrate the vibrant hues of autumn while learning to mix and work confidently with color. Students will create color studies and autumn-inspired paintings using acrylic or oil paint, with a focus on the effects of simultaneous contrast. All levels are welcome. Get into the Halloween spirit by creating your own hand puppet or mask! Use fabric, yarn, beads, feathers, paint, and other fun materials to make a spooky, silly, or magical character. This hands-on class is a fun way to explore your imagination and bring your ideas to life. Inspired by artist Paul Klee, who loved making hand puppets and masks to entertain his young son, we'll discover how simple materials can become unique works of art. Design & Sew a Statement Cap

Create a one-of-a-kind statement hat that reflects your personal style while learning the fundamentals of hat making. Students will cut, assemble, shape, and finish a soft fabric cap using basic machine sewing techniques, gaining experience with pattern layout, curved seams, lining, brim construction, and professional finishing methods. Space will be given for instruction, troubleshooting, slower sewing speeds, and individual creative choices. Inspired by wearable art and everyday self-presentation, this workshop treats the cap as an accessory, part of a costume, as well as a small sculptural object. Students will leave with a completed handmade cap and a better understanding of how simple construction techniques can become personal design language. This is a mixed media art class for parent and child to work side by side! Each week will present a new project. You and your child can work together and independently. Relax and enjoy the process. Sewing Machine Basics: Build Skills & Confidence

Whether your sewing machine is brand new, has been sitting in a closet for years, or simply feels intimidating, this workshop will help you build the skills and confidence to start sewing. Students will learn how to thread and operate a home sewing machine, troubleshoot common problems, and practice essential techniques through guided sewing exercises. Topics include machine anatomy, threading the upper thread and bobbin, selecting needles and thread, adjusting basic settings, understanding stitch options and tension, and solving common issues such as skipped stitches, tangled thread, and broken needles. Students will also practice sewing straight lines, curves, corners, seam allowances, and backstitching while gaining the confidence to tackle future projects. The goal is not perfection. The goal is comfort, control, and confidence. This workshop is an excellent starting point for beginners and a helpful refresher for those who want to boost their confidence before joining another

If you enjoy memoir writing and have a collection of your stories, this is a chance to pull your work into a cohesive narrative. Through instructor feedback and class workshop exercises, you will select, edit, and supplement your writing, creating a longer body of work. Self-publishing will be discussed.
