In this introductory foundry course, you'll explore the art of metal casting using pewter. Each student will have the opportunity to either choose a small object or sculpt a unique figure out of wax. You'll then create a mold using high-temperature silicone, and finally, cast your creation in pewter. This is a perfect introduction to foundry work, where you'll walk away with a one-of-a-kind pewter object that you've crafted from start to finish. Join us for a creative experience that combines sculpting, molding, and metal casting! Please bring a small object, about the size of a tennis ball, to the first class. Includes one 3-hour weekly practice session during monitored practice hours. The tuition for this class includes a materials fee of $40.
