Relief printmaking is a technique that involves carving or cutting away parts of a block or other material, leaving the raised areas to receive ink.
Paper is placed over the inked surface, and the image is transferred either by hand or with a printmaking press. Since the image on the block or plate is permanent, multiple impressions can be made. We will work primarily with linoleum blocks, and other surfaces such as wood and cardboard will be discussed.
The tuition for this class includes a materials fee of $12 for basic materials provided by CAW.
