Explore how four carefully chosen moments from your life can reveal the hidden architecture of your story. Using the Japanese narrative structure of Kishōtenketsu—introduction, development, twist, and reconciliation—students will learn to show rather than tell, applying both poetic precision and prose excellence to transform visual memory into memoir.
Across three sessions, students will move from content creation to selection and from drafting to revision. Discover how seemingly disconnected moments connect across time, how the fourth image can illuminate what the first three couldn’t say alone. Through contemporary workshop methods and sustained attention to craft, you’ll train in both generous critique and fearless revision, learning to trust that your images already know your story, you just need to help them speak.
