We’ll begin with the basics of the most painterly and spontaneous of all printmaking techniques. We will use water-based or oil-based inks to paint and draw directly onto plexiglass or other plates, then run them through a printmaking press to transfer our images onto paper. Then we’ll experiment with stencils, crayons and textures using a variety of materials. If you have previous experience, use wood cut, linocut or other printmaking media to make monoprints. We will also explore silk screen monotype, chine colle, and paper lithography techniques to enhance your work. Through inspiring examples, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, participants will create one-of-a-kind mixed media prints while exploring the many creative possibilities of this versatile medium. Expect the unexpected!
Includes one 3-hour weekly practice session during monitored practice hours.
Tuition for this class includes a fee of $20 for basic materials provided by CAW.

Students who withdraw 48 hours prior to the first class are eligible for a refund or credit toward another class, less a $25 registration fee.
