Learn a variety of approaches to creating metal sculpture, including welding (oxyacetylene and MIG), brazing, cutting (torch and plasma cutter), hammering, and more.
Ideal for intermediate and advanced students, this all-levels class supports the development of independent metal sculpture projects in a collaborative studio environment. Beginners are also welcome and will learn the fundamentals of shop safety, oxyacetylene and MIG welding, and how to use additional tools to finish and enhance their work. Students are encouraged to pursue self-directed projects while gaining inspiration from the techniques and ideas of fellow participants.
Includes one 3-hour weekly practice session during monitored practice hours.
Students should wear 100% cotton long sleeves, jeans or work pants, and closed-toe boots. No synthetic mesh, plastic, or cloth.
The tuition for this class includes a gas and start up-materials fee of $40.
School Policies
Students who withdraw 48 hours prior to the first class are eligible for a refund or credit toward another class, less a $25 registration fee.
