New Haven Photo Day is asking anyone and everyone to take a photograph in New Haven on June 17, 2017, and upload it to this website (www.newhavenphotoday.com). New Haven Photo Day’s goal is to receive hundreds if not thousands of submissions, creating a broad portrait of New Haven on that day.
To participate, just take a photo anytime between 12:00 AM and 11:59 PM on June 17th anywhere in New Haven and upload it here to be included in this community collaboration. Each person can submit up to three photos.
We will be leading and hosting many photo walks all around New Haven that day. The list of scheduled walks will be finalized on June 2. Join us! You can also apply to lead a photo walk of you own.
Submitted photographs will be exhibited several ways:
- June 24: all photographs will be displayed by the International Festival of Arts and Ideas in an electronic slideshow at the Festival Center on the the New Haven Green
- June 27: all photographs will be combined into a permanent online gallery on this site (www.newhavenphotoday.com)
- July 3: a curated selection of the top 30 photos will be published on I Love New Haven
- Date and Venue TBD – an exhibit displaying prints of either a selection of photos, or all photos, which will ultimately be determined by volume of photos submitted and budget; and or one large printed mosaic comprised of all photographs submitted.
