Book Arts

Advanced Hand Bookbinding Lab

Intermediate + Advanced

These sessions are for experienced book binders who have taken Advanced Bookbinding at CAW and can work independently, or who have permission of the department head. There will be a monitor present at all sessions. Enrollment in this class includes one 3-hour monitored open bench session per week. Tuition for this class includes a materials fee of $5. This class will take place in a studio accessed by a flight of stairs. Join us to draw or paint from a nude model. The 3-hour session includes mixed-length poses. These are monitored "open drawing" sessions; there is no instruction. It is encouraged to register at least 48 hours in advance. Figure and Portrait Long Pose Open Sketch

Join a vibrant community of artists for this inspiring open studio drawing and painting session. With no formal instruction, this is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a focused three-hour pose, alternating weekly between figure and portrait models. Work in the medium of your choice—charcoal, paint, pastel, pencil, or more—and enjoy the energy and motivation of creating alongside fellow artists. Whether you’re honing your skills, exploring new techniques, or simply carving out dedicated time for your practice, these sessions offer the perfect space to observe, experiment, and create.
