Experienced in Mokuhanga and want more? This class is for you.
Students will explore bokashi gradations, blind embossing, burnishing to add gloss to a mostly matte print, the application of mica and luster powders, and the addition of a final intaglio block printed on one of the studio’s presses. Students are welcome to create new blocks or use blocks produced in previous classes.
Tuition for this class includes a fee of $20 for basic materials provided by CAW.
School Policies
Students who withdraw 48 hours prior to the first class are eligible for a refund or credit toward another class, less a $25 registration fee.

-Your own woodblock carving tools if you have them -1 Exacto Knife with #11 blade(s) -Set of 6 or more tubes of student quality gouache colors, or use CAW’s Akua liquid pigments, which offer less color variety. -Small package of ten or twenty 2 oz. or 3.25 oz. clear plastic condiment cups with lids (i.e. Comfy Plastic Portion Cups online or at grocery store) -1 roll Bounty paper towels -1 roll wax paper -12” steel ruler -1 roll masking tape (1/2” or ¾”) -(2)one-quart or pint size (used) plastic containers with lids -Scissor -(2) fine line Sharpie markers, one black or blue and one red -(3) zip lock, quart size plastic bags -(2) tall plastic kitchen garbage bags or one larger plastic bag or plastic _sheeting that can be cut up -Pencil and ball point pen -Eraser -Inexpensive set of 8 or 10 colored pencils -9x12 sketchbook with approximately 20 pages -Work shirt
