Learn how to make a book that’s not blank!
This workshop will show you how to turn any electronic document into something that can be bound into a book. Students will learn how to format and print a short story (16 – 20 pages) using freely available web-based software. The pages will be sequenced for a sewn binding – a process known as imposition and then the students will bind the results into a one signature hardcover pamphlet.
The text for the book will be supplied by the instructor and CAW will print the pages. Adapting the process to a larger book using other texts will also be discussed.
The tuition for this class includes a fee of $3 for basic materials provided by CAW.
This class/workshop will take place in a studio accessed by a flight of stairs. For disability accommodations please send a confidential email to registrar@creativeartsworkshop.org
