Have you pocketed little treasures on walks and wondered what you’ll do with those finds?
Celebrate the forager in your heart as we create a hand-stitched sampler book filled with gathered bits and patterned stitches. Learn several basic embroidery (or visible mending) stitches and how to integrate your found objects onto up-cycled fabric swatches mounted on paper. Each embroidered piece can stand alone as a notecard or become part of a folded paper accordion book.
Students will learn a selection of decorative stitches, complete as many sampler pieces as time allows, and take home enough supplies to complete 5 embroidered swatches. If you are familiar with basic hand-stitching, you can learn more advanced stitches.
No sewing or book binding experience required.
