Make a box for a book. Create a slipcase that fits your book snugly while leaving the title and spine in full view. Learn the basics of box making using the tools of our fully equipped bindery. The design and functional aspects of your box, measuring and cutting binder’s board, paper and cloth, and the challenges of gluing are all topics that will be covered during the class.
This is a course for both beginners and those with some experience. Many of the basic skills of bookbinding will be taught including measuring, cutting, folding, and gluing. Intermediate students may continue with ongoing projects.
Enrollment in this class includes one 3 hour monitored open bench session a week.
The tuition for this class includes a fee of $6 for basic materials provided by CAW.
