All artists begin their careers in the space they have available, right? Sometimes that space is the garage. Get down and dirty with us in our CAWrage (a play on the word “garage” ), in celebration of PRIDE New Haven, as we make a mess learning about featured prominent LGBT artists Keith Haring, Frida Kahlo and Mickalene Thomas and accessorize clothing inspired by their artistic styles!
Decorate a piece of your own clothing in designs, colors and patterns inspired by the artists we will learn about so as to become a piece of living art yourself. Create a great statement piece to wear to the rest of the PRIDE events! Afterwards, stick around for a mini photo shoot of the group in your creations to share with friends and community.
With Pride events being known for their unique fashion, we invite you to learn about some of the most prominent LGBT artists in our time, how their work has influenced and empowered the LGBT community. Decorate clothing as statement pieces inspired by their work to be worn at the rest of the New Haven Pride events! Afterward, snap a photo of your transformation to share with the community.
