Paper Folding: An Introduction

In person

Fritz Horstman

Book Arts, Drawing + Painting Workshop: All Levels

Explore the incredible potential of this most mundane of materials.

Beginning with very simple ideas and techniques, students will gain skill and move towards some of the folding patterns from Horstman’s own art practice, as well as ideas developed by Josef Albers when he was teaching at the Bauhaus. (Horstman is also Education Director at the Albers Foundation.)

Participants will be given (achievable) challenges as well as time to experiment with new skills and material.

No prior experience is required. Note that though some of the skills and materials are similar, this is not an origami workshop.

School Policies

Students who withdraw 48 hours prior to the first class are eligible for a refund or credit toward another class, less a $25 registration fee.
