Learn the basics of one- and two-point perspective and how to put them to use in observational drawing. This workshop will combine both in-studio concepts of perspective with indoor and outdoor drawing situations where perspective drawing can be used. This class is designed to give the students access to this very practical tool for creating the illusion of space in a drawing-as well as increasing speed and accuracy when drawing from observation.
The tuition for this class includes a fee of $10 for basic materials provided by CAW.
School Policies
Students who withdraw 48 hours prior to the first class are eligible for a refund or credit toward another class, less a $25 registration fee.

Pencil HB, 2B (1 of each: “HB” pencils are harder, “2B” pencils are softer.) Either wood pencil or mechanical pencil Pencil sharpener Paper 3-6 sheets of large drawing paper (18” x 24”) This can be part of a pad (I recommend a Strathmore drawing paper pad) or individual sheets. Bristol Plate SMOOTH finish is a also a nice paper to use. Drawing Board 28” x 22” or around that size. Your board should be larger than your paper size in both dimensions. You can also look into using ½” foam core or “gatorboard” as a lightweight alternative to Masonite. *Some drawing boards should be available for students to use at the CAW. Two Large 2" Black Paper Clamps (for clipping paper to board) Kneaded Eraser and/or white “click” or retractable eraser Straight edge/ ruler. If you have two yard sticks as well as a shorter ruler you might find the longer sticks useful for spotting vanishing points. T-square or a right angle triangle can also be helpful but not required. 2 Straight measuring sticks (they can be knitting needles or skewers or something similar. They should be l0” - 12” long) Sketchbook for notes and sketches.
