Silkscreen/Serigraph Printmaking

Learn the versatile and popular craft of silkscreen/serigraph printmaking. Students will transfer photo images (photography, drawing, painting, or multimedia art) to the printing screens and print onto paper, fabric, or wood panel. Image separations (digital and hand) to print images with more than one color as well as learning how to register multiple colors for printing will be discussed. Saturday Water-based Printmaking

Explore print processes using safe water-soluble inks and novel plate supports in an open forum approach where students work at their own pace and personal focus. Develop personal imagery utilizing woodcut, linocut, monotype, monoprint, collagraph, Chine-collé, drypoint, and multiple inking and printing techniques. Introduction to Watercolor

Try your hand at this beautiful art form as we work week-by-week on achieving the ethereal qualities of watercolor painting. Start with the basics by learning color mixing, paint and brush techniques, composition, followed by discussion of the special techniques which highlight the qualities unique to the medium. We will discuss correct applications and the pitfalls. Students will work from close observation of still life displays or photos. There will be teacher demonstrations at each class. Everyone is encouraged to develop their own artistic style while getting accustomed to the techniques of the medium. This class is designed for beginners, but all levels are welcome.
