Dee Rose Barba was born in Torrance, California in 1991 and moved to her childhood home Stamford, Connecticut in 1993. She received two degrees from the University of New Haven, a BA in Interior Design and a BA in Fine Arts. She also received her Master of Fine Arts degree from Western Connecticut State University in 2019. Dee Rose works in two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms using various mediums including oil paint on canvas or Masonite, pen on paper, and cross stitch. She is absorbed by the examination of her inner being through non-representational and figurative expressionism with the understanding of where she sits in the environment that surrounds her with non-representational and landscape expressionism. Her work has been shown annually since 2010, including exhibitions at the Citywide Open Studios at Art Space in New Haven, Connecticut in 2013, the Shim Invitational II at Art Helix Gallery in Brooklyn, New York in 2015, and the I Am … 4th Annual at Kehler Liddell Gallery, New Haven, Connecticut in 2020. Dee Rose Barba currently lives and works in North Haven, Connecticut.
