Drop-In to Craft & Create at Creative Arts Workshop

Get into the holiday spirit with Holiday Pop-Up Events at Creative Arts Workshop! Join us for a series of fun, festive, and family-friendly drop-in sessions designed to bring out your inner maker. These hands-on, make and take events invite holiday crafters of all ages to enjoy time in our studios creating unique holiday ornaments, hand-stamped wrapping paper, watercolor cards, and much more.

Enjoy light refreshments, including apple cider, hot chocolate, and holiday cookies to keep you energized while you create. Prices will vary for each drop-in event or workshop, so there’s something for every budget.

Let’s spread holiday cheer together with activities that capture the season’s magic! Stop by on November 30, December 8, or December 14 for a crafting experience that celebrates the joy of the holidays.

In this festive workshop, young ones will create a trio of seasonal ornaments, each perfect for decorating their home or gifting to loved ones.

Paint and decorate mini hanging canvases with snowflakes, holly, and glitter for that holiday sparkle. For a bit of warmth, craft pom-pom winter animals, like reindeer and snow bunnies. Finally, adorn rustic pine cone ornaments with tiny holiday ribbons and frosty touches. If you still want more, create a graceful, hanging paper snow bird to add a touch of winter magic. This workshop is filled with holiday spirit and creativity, bringing warmth and joy to the season!

Price: $15 for a set of three ornaments / Kids can make and take the same day.

Repurpose Paper into Holiday Gift Wrap / 12 - 3 PM with Kate Henderson

Join Kate Henderson in the printmaking studio where you’ll transform paper  into beautiful, one-of-a-kind wrapping paper using eco-friendly repurposed bags or printer paper—perfect for the gift-giving season.

This hands-on activity invites all ages to create stamps and experiment with pattern-making, color layering, and design, resulting in unique, handmade gift wrap that adds a personal touch to holiday presents. No experience needed—just bring your creativity!

Please bring brown paper bags or scrap paper if you have them; we'll also have extras on hand. Pre-made stamps are welcome, and all other supplies are provided.

Freestyle Embroidery/ 12 - 3 PM with Elena Grossman

Choose from a selection of charming holiday ornaments to stitch and enjoy a fun afternoon of freestyle embroidery!

Exchange tips on making projects manageable and troubleshoot any tricky areas. Rediscover basic stitches and embroidery tools. Embrace embroidery as a way to relax and enjoy the creative process. All supplies included

People are encouraged to bring the following items if they wish:

- Canvas or linen remnants
- New or recovered thread or embroidery silk
- Ongoing project, issue you wish to solve, or garment needing embellishment
- Cloth napkins
- Beads or baubles to incorporate in your designs

Handmade Holiday Gift Tags, Cards, & More / 12 - 3 PM with Janet Beth Brodie

Janet Beth Brodie has been making rubber stamped and collaged fabric and paper goods such as cards and gift tags for many joyful years.

Visit Creative Arts Workshop during the Holiday Craft & Create Pop-Ups on December 8 to purchase Janet's unique holiday and everyday cards, ornaments, calendars, gift tags, and fabric stamped items including socks, dish towels, baby clothes and more.

You can also create your own gift tags with a variety of papers, die cut shapes, rubber stamps, and collage materials. This holiday pop-up is designed for adults but children are welcome to give it a try with an adult supervision.

Come and play, make, and shop locally to make the season merry and bright!

Terracotta Ornaments / 1 - 4 PM with Megan Smith

Join us at Creative Arts Workshop for a festive, family-friendly ornament-making event! Drop in on Saturday, November 30, or Sunday, December 8, from 1–4 PM to press, decorate, and personalize your very own terracotta ornaments.

Each ornament takes about 20-30 minutes to complete, so feel free to stop by for as long as you can and make as many as you like! Our studio will be stocked with everything you need to create a holiday keepsake you’ll cherish for years to come. All ages and skill levels are welcome!

The fee is $10 per ornament including firing fees. Pick up your finished ornaments on Saturday, December 14 from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Repurposing Art into Holiday Cards / 11 AM - 2 PM with Kate Henderson

Give your artwork new life this holiday season during this make and take collaging event. Old prints, drawings, or works on paper that didn’t quite hit the mark can be transformed into festive holiday cards with the  magic of collage.

Learn how to transform old prints or artwork on paper into unique holiday cards or one-of-a-kind gifts using techniques like collage, stamping, layering, and chine collé with additional materials.

Explore endless possibilities to add a personal touch to your holiday greetings. Perfect for all skill levels. Bring your existing art pieces and your imagination!

Please bring any of these items to this Holiday Craft & Create event: 

- Artwork to collage, interesting papers, and clean paper for inserts
- Ribbons, fancy paper, fabric, buttons, magazine or newspaper clippings
