Creative Arts Workshop seeks dedicated gallery manager for our Gallery Fellowship position. Immerse yourself in curation, marketing, community art education, and event planning all at the same time!
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and attend Gallery Committee Meetings; plan agenda
- Compile and maintain a gallery calendar with Executive Director and Gallery Director
- Manage exhibition applications
- Communicate with artists regarding all aspects of an exhibition: contracts, receiving/unpacking work, packing/shipping work, collecting artist info
- Communicate with faculty and students regarding Faculty and Student Shows
- Help artists and Gallery Director unpack, hang and install artwork
- Compile price lists, labels, Exhibition Binder with all artist info
- Post Open Calls and calendar listings for exhibitions and receptions
- Coordinate materials for press releases and social media
- Coordinate postcards, graphics and signage
- Coordinate artist talks and other events
- Help set up and coordinate opening receptions; order refreshments, wine, drinks, etc.
- Coordinate maintenance and cleaning of gallery spaces
- Manage gallery sales, maintain records regarding expenses and income
Qualifications
- Dependable, presentable, takes initiative, detail-oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to step in and help on short notice
