Dee Rose Barba Artist Statement
Abandoned Dance is a collection of my unrevealed self. There is an opportunity that presents itself through this form of creation. It is an opportunity to bring the intangible thought of my mind to the physical space that surrounds me. A chance to express her, she, me. She is the fragmentations of a continuous yet ever-changing dance. A dance of the truth, the broken, and the hidden. I find her dancing through the trees of a silent forest, relieving the weight infringing on my life. Through every abandoned step she is what is left behind. No
one beyond the edge of the forest knowing the abandoned dance I make to reveal and escape.
Dee Rose is a teaching artist at CAW who works in 2D and 3D forms using various mediums including oil paint on wood fiber boards, clay, pen on paper, and cross stitch.
