Made Visible: Shaunda Holloway Printmaking Demonstration
This video is a recording of a live Zoom printmaking demonstration by artist Shaunda Holloway, held on November 10, 2020 at Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven. Holloway’s monotype portraits of New Haven residents are on view now at 80 Audubon Street as part of Made Visible, CAW’s streetside windows exhibition.
“Thank you for looking at our community through the eyes of an artist, a woman—a Black woman. Creating these montages is an opportunity to reveal deeper layers of just who and what New Haven is. Through photomontages, hand-painting, printing, and stitching I hope to have fed the viewer more of what has not been seen enough: dignity, strength, and love.”
This exhibition and public programs are made possible, in part, from public funds from the Neighborhood Cultural Vitality grant program, City of New Haven. We are grateful for this important support.

In the Making

This week’s “In the Making” asks “what’s next?” Join us in a conversation reflecting on COVID-19’s impact on your art, life, or business. We’ll look to the future together, figuring out how to navigate from where we are to where we want to be.
Price: Pay as you wish—we will provide a link during the event.

This week we’re going to explore the ups and downs of the creative process through success and failure. What does success look like? What kind of failures stop us in our tracks? What value do we place on ourselves and our work in moments of triumph and defeat?
