This class is for those wanting to discover new experimental monotype printmaking techniques. Participants learn to combine plates and images made with different printmaking methods to produce a series of related but individualistic prints. You will make collagraph plates emphasizing pattern and texture, stencils for repeat motifs and shapes, and photo transfers for content and text.
Striking colors will be added to your print with viscosity rolls and by printing onto exotic or patterned papers. Participants will be able to emboss areas and mix colored luster powders into their inks. Plate images will be printed separately, superimposed or printed in varied configurations.
The tuition for this class includes a fee of $15 for basic materials provided by CAW.
See materials section below for items students should bring to classes.
