The Power of Comics, Collage, and Storytelling

Amira Brown

Drawing + Painting, Young People Workshop: Intermediate + Advanced

How do creatives tell their stories? How will you tell yours?  Using painting, drawing, and collage practices students will explore visual communication and develop their own individual comic style, self-expression, and cultural identity.  In her own artistic practice, new instructor,  Amira Brown, “[captures] the ambiguities of life–furthering the representational ideals of diversity and moving into unresolved and imaginative aspects of Blackness.”
