The Portrait: Drawing into Painting

In person

Heidi Harrington

Drawing + Painting Class: All Levels
The first class will focus on drawing a model using charcoal on charcoal mid-toned paper.  The the following three classes demonstrate how there is a smooth transition into painting by drawing in paint in a similar way. Tone and drawing are the biggest focus points of the course, but the use of a minimal palette and later, exploring warm and cool colors will be introduced also.  Throughout the course, there will be individual attention given, as well as short demonstrations and examples of relevant artist’s work.
This course would suit a student who needs more confidence in painting in oils (or acrylics if preferred), and also good for intermediate students.
