Throughout the “golden hour”— the time around sunrise and sunset —the sky quickly evolves in a vast array of vibrant colors, tones, hues, and lighting. Also known as the “magic hour” by photographers and cinematographers, capturing these one-of-a-kind images is a must. However, it’s essential to be quick with your lens as the magic only lasts so long. However, with all this breathtaking beauty also comes various challenges with shadows, exposure, color balance, and glare. Join us in learning how to overcome these obstacles and to capture the magic.
Classes begin with a basic introduction to lighting, color balance, and tricks necessary to photograph just the right, “golden” moment. During the next three classes, participants will get out and about with their cameras. They will explore Audubon Street in downtown as well as other areas of the students’ choice. The final class is back in the studio, where participants share their experiences and glowing, “golden” images with one another.
Tuition for this class includes a fee of $10 for basic materials provided by CAW.
