Using book cloth, decorative paper, and elegant stitching, students create a hardcover stab binding, suitable for journals, or sketchbooks. There will be time to explore traditional and non-traditional sewing patterns. Once you have done one of these, you can continue to create at home as no special tools are needed.
Most of the basics of hand bookbinding, including measuring, folding, cutting and gluing, will be covered.
No experience necessary. Intermediate students may enroll and continue with ongoing projects.
Tuition for this class includes a fee of $10 for basic materials provided by CAW.
