This innovative workshop will combine silkscreen and etching processes. You’ll learn to etch on copper to create line drawings combining photo-silkscreen emulsion and the sugar lift technique of classic etching.
The instructor will prepare plates for everyone and have them ready at the time of the workshop. The entire process will be demonstrated during class time, and everyone will ink and print their plates while the demo piece is being etched. You’ll leave this session with a wonderful etched copper plate and print.
Interested participants should submit a line drawing to the instructor digitally two weeks prior to the class, which will be etched onto a 4” x 5” copper plate. No solid black areas, just line work, please. Submit your selections to greenier.allan@gmail.com
The tuition for this class includes a fee of $15 for basic materials provided by CAW.
Additional materials provided by instructor at a rate of $20 per student payable to the instructor on the day of the workshop.
