Experiment with different drawing materials and ways of seeing. Explore the expressive use of line, gain awareness of positive and negative shapes, create depth and volume, and learn how to create the appearance of light and shadow on objects in a variety of settings.
Tuition for this class includes a fee of $10 for basic materials provided by CAW.

Students who withdraw 48 hours prior to the first class are eligible for a refund or credit toward another class, less a $25 registration fee.

Please bring the following to the first class: Vine charcoal - soft, 1⁄4” thick, 4-6 sticks (1) Charcoal pencil, soft Below is a list of materials that students may purchase after a discussion during the first class with the instructor: Compressed charcoal, very soft, round (not square), 2-3 sticks Conte crayon, very soft, 2 sticks (1) Ebony pencil, (1) Staedtler Mars white eraser (1) Kneaded eraser Pencil sharpener Chamois cloth or a scrap of very soft cotton material like a T-shirt 18 x 24 white paper drawing pad 24 x 36 newsprint paper will be supplied by CAW
