Learn how to make a book that’s not blank! This workshop will show you how to turn any electronic document into something that can be bound into a book. Students will learn how to format and print a short story (16 – 20 pages) using freely available web-based software. The text for the book will be supplied by the instructor. The pages will be sequenced for a sewn binding – a process known as imposition. The printing will be taken care of for you at the end of the first day. Then, bind the results into a one signature hardcover pamphlet. We’ll also discuss adapting the process to a larger book using other texts.
The tuition for this class includes a fee of $3.25 for basic materials provided by CAW.
