Do you have a special book (that you made or own) that needs an elegant box? From a long Japanese tradition of folding comes this four-sided box with flaps that fold in at the top and bottom to protect the edges of a book. It opens entirely flat for easy access. A variation can be made to hold a treasured object with a tray and a folding cover. It will be made of binders’ board and covered with fabric and decorative paper held together with a bone clasp.
Come as a beginner to learn the fundamentals of box making or continue to develop your skills as a student with previous experience.
Students are welcome to continue work on a previously started box projects.
The tuition for this class includes a fee of $27 for basic materials provided by CAW.
