Working from a still life, students will go from start to finish with a single painting. Drawing composition, color mixing, paint washes, dry brush techniques, use of water, and the more expressive flourishes of watercolor will be taught along with a study of light and color, value, and the watery tricks of watercolor to achieve that light and gauzy quality. Students will be encouraged to develop their own artistic style while getting accustomed to the techniques of the medium.
This class is a chance for beginning students to try their hand at this beautiful and ephemeral medium, and an opportunity to practice techniques for those more experienced.
The tuition for this class includes a fee of $5 for basic materials provided by CAW.
CAW is now requiring proof of vaccination status from all who are eligible to receive it for in-person classes and workshops.
