Learn the fundamentals of box structures and techniques.
The boxes can be used for traditional bookbinding purposes as well as for containers for all kinds of treasures. They will be made of binder’s board and covered with fabric and decorative paper. Students will begin with a simple, open-top box, and progress to include a variety of sizes, lids, and embellishments.
The basic book and box-making techniques of measuring, cutting, and gluing will be covered. No experience is necessary. Students with a previous class in box-making may continue on individual box projects.
Enrollment in this class includes one 3 hour monitored open bench session a week.
The tuition for this class includes a fee of $26 for basic materials provided by CAW.
