The teapot can be the showstopper in the potter’s repertoire. It brings together a number of different techniques into one piece, and the form lets one play with the various elements: handle, spout, lid, and body. This workshop will concentrate on both slab construction and extruded parts, and will cover a great number of surface decoration techniques using stretched slab, impression boards, and various resist approaches with stencils and slips. This workshop will also interest throwers who’d like to expand their horizons beyond the wheel.
Love what you have created? For an additional fee of $2.75 per pound (payable in cash or check to the studio potter at the end of the workshop), CAW will bisque fire your teapot, let you know when it’s ready for you to come and glaze, and then fire it in the gas kiln.
School Policies
Students who withdraw 48 hours prior to the first class are eligible for a refund or credit toward another class, less a $25 registration fee.
