Drawing the Human Figure

In person

Lisa Hess Hesselgrave

Drawing + Painting Class: Intermediate + Advanced

Working from a live model explore issues of form, structure, proportion, volume, movement, composition, and the expressive possibilities of materials. Gesture drawing is at the root of successful figure drawing and students will work quickly to capture the essential forms and axes of the figure.

This class is for students who have some basic drawing experience and are interested in improving their figure drawing. The instructor will present drawing exercises, provide demonstrations, and work with students individually. Students will be encouraged to strengthen their perceptual judgement of the figure and environment while developing personal expression.

The tuition for this class includes a fee of $5 for newsprint provided by CAW. See list below for materials students will need to bring.
