This is a workshop for first explorations of printmaking and book binding or for those with some experience. Combine the spontaneity of monotype printmaking with the craft of bookbinding to make a unique artists’ book. The first session in the print studio will be devoted to creating a series of prints that that explore color, texture, imagery, and incorporate text or collage elements. In the second session, students will meet in the Bindery and learn to make an accordion book that can stand up and expand for display. Using your prints as the pages, we will hinge them together with sturdy, color coordinated paper and add hard covers. The result will be a beautiful, one-of-a-kind book.
Tuition for this class includes a fee of $17 for basic materials provided by CAW. See below for materials students need to bring.
