Combine the spontaneity of monotype printmaking with the craft of bookbinding to make a unique artists’ book. The first three sessions will be devoted to creating a group of same size prints, exploring one idea, theme, or concept, that will work together as a series or to tell a story.
In the next two sessions, students will learn to make an accordion book that can stand up and expand for display. Hinge together as many prints as you like for the pages with sturdy, color coordinated paper. Finally, students will make hard covers wrapped in book cloth, decorative paper, or your prints. The result will be a beautiful, one of a kind book.
