Create a house out of cardboard, repurposed fabric, wood, tile, and recycled plastic objects. Decorate it, furnish it, and put a mini-version of yourself in it.
Then get together with your new friends, put all your houses together and build a neighborhood. What happens next in the neighborhood is up to you—a block party, a ball game, hopscotch, bike riding, you name it! Then with collaborative story-telling, students will talk about those adventures taking place in this newly-created setting.
To remember what happened here, students will write and illustrate mini-books about some aspect of their shared story.
