For the absolute beginner, come learn the basic structures and techniques of hand bookbinding through two projects. A signature is one bunch of folded sheets of paper. You will learn the art of making one signature soft cover and hardcover books. All the basics of bookbinding will be taught, including measuring, cutting, folding, and gluing. Inspire a future of making larger, more complicated books. Instruction is adjusted to the binding skill of the individual.
Intermediate students may continue work on individual projects. Enrollment in this class includes one 3 hour monitored open bench session a week.
The tuition for this class includes a fee of $5 for basic materials provided by CAW.
