Piece, Patch & Quilt

Create your own textile art by piecing together square, triangle, and rectangular shapes into patchwork designs. Taking inspiration from traditional piecing such as flying geese, chevron, and windmill as well as modern and historical quilt patterns, students will sew together shapes to create their own design.  Tuition for this class includes a fee of $15 for basic materials provided by CAW. School Policies Students who withdraw 48 hours prior to the first class are eligible for a refund or credit toward another class, less a $25 registration fee.

Intermediate and Advanced Printmaking

You decide - explore multiple printmaking techniques and processes or deepen your practice in one area. Use etching, drypoint, woodcut, linocut, monotype, transfer prints, paper lithography, polymer plate lithography, collagraph, silk aquatint, transfer prints, or Chine-collé. Learn new techniques or connect printmaking to other artistic media. Includes one 3-hour practice session per week during monitored practice hours. Tetra-Pak® Printmaking

Explore innovative approaches to printmaking using recycled Tetra-Pak® packaging as an alternative plate material. This hands-on experience introduces both intaglio and monotype techniques, with an emphasis on on imagery design, mark making, tool use, plate inking, ink removal and treatment techniques to provide a variety of print outcomes.  Process demonstrations and examples of Tetra-Pak® prints will support exploration and experimentation. All inks are water-washable for easy cleanup.  Includes one 3-hour weekly practice session during monitored practice hours. Custom Hardware for Your Sculpture

Looking to elevate how your artwork is presented? Create custom hardware and metal supports designed to complement your work. Explore a range of techniques for creating wall mounts, ceiling suspensions, handmade chain, forged fasteners, and metal bases. Students will learn practical approaches that can be adapted and expanded into solutions that reflect your own style as a sculptor working in metal. By combining select commercial components with handcrafted elements, you can streamline the process while maintaining a cohesive, professional finish. The result is a presentation that feels intentional and fully integrated—allowing your sculpture to stand confidently as a complete work. Includes one 3-hour weekly practice session during monitored practice hours. Students should wear 100% cotton long sleeves, jeans or work pants, and closed-toe boots.  No synthetic mesh, plastic, or cloth. Please have hair tied back.
