Supplies List Beginning Figure Drawing and Painting

  • Drawing:
      Charcoal sticks, white pastel or conte, kneaded erasers, and/or soft 6B pencils
  • Paint: any acrylic paint you have and brushes.
      If you don’t have paint, hardware store Rustoleum makes cheap 8 oz cans of acrylic paint now in white, lemon yellow, pink or red, blue. Find a tiny black in any kind of acrylic.
  • Brushes:
      Hardware store $1 wood handle 3/4″ and 1″ brushes with natural rough bristles are amazing- buy 6. Art long handled brushes for drawing in acrylic/oil size Round 2 and square end Tapered #6
  • Paper:
      CAW provides 4′ newsprint, and you also need 30″x22″ art Hot Press Bristol or other paper: or brown package-wrapping/mailing paper. Bring 3 sheets to first class, or a roll of brown to use for the semester.
