Books can be whatever your imagination dictates. Learn about the history of bookmaking, discover famous book illustrators from different periods and geographical locations, and practice simple bookbinding and printing techniques to make and decorate small editions of a book, using calligraphy pens for writing, and gold leaf for laminating. Students may choose to write their own story, illustrate a book by their favorite author, create a book without words, or make an art journal. No writing skills are required, just an open mind and plenty of imagination.
