WORKSHOPS
Nuno-Felting FR20SP10w
Instructor: Jeannie Thomma
Sunday, May 16, 10:00-4:00
“Nuno-Felting” (felted wool on silk) is the preferred choice for creating many wear-able works of art, and the process yields a wonderfully detailed and beautifully tactile finish. Unexpected crinkles and textures galore are the hallmark of this felting technique. Layers of information can be incorporated into the wool to yield a mesmerizing, “How did you do that?” surface quality. Much like the complex flavors found in a great meal, nuno-felting allows the artist to create a work of art that ranges from the subtle to the sublime. Hints of color, bits of information, splashes of energy, and the personality of the artist will all be captured in the gossamer woolen fabrics that we create. Students can expect to leave class with a completed nuno scarf, and/or “felted nuno yardage” for future projects. Materials fee included.
Cost: $150; members: $135
