March 1 – April 4, 2019
The Village Project is a community installation. Created by artist Denise Minnerly (Norwalk, CT), in collaboration with Don Bracken (Cornwall Bridge, CT), the exhibition features handmade, floor-resting clay houses which form a village beneath a sculptural pod created from Connecticut vines and roots.
Visitors are invited to use clay provided in the gallery to create their own visions of home. Their work will then be fired in one of CAW’s kilns before being added to the growing collective community centered in our gallery.
Artwork by Minnerly and Bracken on both levels of the Hilles Gallery complement their sculptural, community centerpiece.
A closing reception and artist talk will take place on Thursday, April 4 at 6 pm.
