Staples memo pad (item#36312) 3.5” X 5.25”
Binder’s Board or a heavy mat board
Cover: 3 7/8”w x 5 5/8”h Cut 2
Spine: 1/4”w x 5 5/8”h Cut 1
Book cloth: Hull’s and Artist and Craftsman both have small roles of book cloth (or used custom made from earlier workshop) Colors are limited
Cover: 6 1/4”w x 6 7/8”h
Spine Lining: 2 1/2”w x 5 7/8”h
Pad Band 6”w x 2”h
Decorative paper: Any kind of printed paper will work as long as it is not too thin and you can find the grain easily. Wrapping paper is hard to work with but scrapbooking paper works well. Available at Joanne’s or Michael’s
Cut 1: 3 3/4”w X 7”h
Paper for paste downs: Light weight card stock available at Joanne’s or Michael’s. Color to compliment binding
Cut 2: 3 3/4”w X 5 1/2” h
Tools:
- Teflon bone folder or scissors with large handles
- Xacto knife or other sharp cutting tool
- Dinner knife
- Small cheap paintbrush for glue approx 1”wide
- Sobo or Elmer’s white glue
- Straight edge/ruler without cork backing
- 2 small weights (Altoid or other small tin filled with pennies works well)
- Newsprint (not newspaper) or scrap paper
- Pencil with sharp point (a mechanical pencil works best)
- Eraser
- Couple of strips of scrap paper approximately 1/2” wide and 12” long
- Small jar for water
